[ MEANWHILE, IN A DARK CORNER OF THE BAR, there lurks an ostian spy/thief. and he loves everyone in this bar but he is totally going to take advantage of their varying states of drunkenness to sneak things from them. it's just a friendly prank this time around, but a thief can't resist a golden opportunity such as this. sticky fingers, they are itching.

so don't mind the dude in the red cloaked casually walking behind people. he totally isn't stealing stuff from them (or you). nope, not at all, who would you ever accuse him of such a terrible thing. ]

[ Not even Matthew can elude Serra's watchful eye; she's always two steps ahead of her vassals. Thankfully (for the entire bar), Serra hasn't had a drink, at least not as of yet; one can only imagine how bad she'd be under alcohol's influence.

[ there are a lot of things that make for terrible conditions for pickpocketing. light. heavy armor. attentive targets. but nothing is better at ruining a perfect thieving opportunity than serra. he's quick to get himself away when his target starts at the sound. ]

Do you have to be so loud? [ that's a dumb question because it's serra and matthew knows the answer to that by now, but he keeps hoping... ] Why are you looking to me? I'm just a thief, no proper knight. I could get clobbered here any second!

[ The fact that Serra is flailing about and talking about Matthew stealing things from this.. very upscale pubs loyal patrons is probably not a good thing, nope. ]
